‘Engineer’s Forum for Entrepreneurship Awareness’, acronym-ed ‘E-FOREA’, is the E-CELL of National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal.
Since its inception in September 2006, E-FOREA has strived to inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship among students through events, seminars and discussions. The E Cell introduces students to the entrepreneurship ecosystem and opportunities across the country by connecting them to venture capitalists, incubators, entrepreneurs and academicians.
E-FOREA team meets frequently for knowledge exchange sessions and discussions on different business ideas and propositions. As a part of its network, E-FOREA is a part of the prestigious National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN); has an MOU with NITKSTEP and tie-ups with SBI, IITs and IIMs.
Within 3 years of inception, E-FOREA has seen unparalleled success. There have been 3 ventures starting up from E-FOREA— NAABO Solutions, Tenmarks.com and Neo Learning Solutions— all three of which are now successful companies. And the biggest feather in our cap— NITK and E-FOREA have recently been awarded the ‘Best Technical School in India promoting Entrepreneurship Education” by NITIE and INTEL.
